Meltan is a new mythical Pokémon available in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee. It is obtained by connecting Let's Go Pikachu or Let's Go Eevee with the smartphone game Pokémon GO. First, send any Pokémon from GO to Let's Go to receive a Mystery Box item in GO. Opening the box causes Meltan to spawn in Pokémon GO. These Meltan can be caught and then sent over to Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

Meltan evolves into Melmetal in Pokémon GO, with 400 Meltan Candies.

you are unable to send meltan or melmetal to SV and the only way to evolve meltan is to evolve using 400 candies in GO

Meltan and Melmetal can't be transferred to Scarlet and Violet.
There's also a quest in the ZA DLC to get a Melmetal, but that's rather irrelevant information.

I hate Melmetal for one reason and it’s the stupid evolution method. Other wise I like Melmetal
