Well, if you have a regular DS or DS Lite, you need to insert the Gameboy game into the Gameboy slot at the bottom of the DS, next you must go to the Pal Park om Route 221 after you get the national pokedex. Then you select the pokemon from you're boxes in Firered to put into the Pal Park. Then you walk around the Pal Park looking for you're pokemon you selected and catch them again. A sad thing is that the DSI model does not have a gameboy slot, rendering Poke Transfer inpossible with Gameboy games. You can only transfer Data from games like Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum to Black or White. Keep in mind that you will need two DS or DSI to transfer from Diamond/Pear/Platinum to Black/White.
