Why do you get 2 points for giving BA?

Because Pokemaster made it like that.
Not really much of a reason. That is a way to get yourself to vote, or flag, as it raises you to higher points. It's mainly to help newer users.

You used to get points for some other things like voting. It's just a small encouragement to "do the right thing" and mark an answer as best when it is best.
