I, along with the experts (and Ayan), usually are the ones to change tags (it's a small, trivial matter. I like to leave more important stuff to Mods rather than silly stuff like tags). Your tag is used as an example, so it's an exception, but I would have changed it if it wasn't. I actually do look at tags on meta most of the time. Luckily, it's normally more experienced users with some sensibility that posts on meta, so i don't have to do much work to do. Same can't be said for Pokebase.
To follow up on what DT said, if a tag is inappropriate, comment and we'll get it changed. If it's just silly or unnecessary, then just ignore it, and someone will come to it eventually.
