Apparently, this site is enforcing COPPA so what is the point in having a censor?

Firstly, even though it is a 13+ site, you can never confirm someones age. They might tell you that they are 13, but the could be much younger/older
Another point is that without a censor, Chat would be filled with Swears and Swear Spam. Just because someone is 13, they don't nesciallary have to put up with swearing. Then if younger people come, it will influence them.
Yeah
Also I'm not sure the site is enforcing COPPA. PM had planned on it (dunno if he has enacted on it or not) but it certainly hasn't always been there. And yeah, I think we're somewhat better off with a censor :P

The site doesn't enforce COPPA yet (at least that I know of), but PM intends to soon. We have a ton of members who aren't 13 at the moment and nothing's happening to them, so yeah.

Even if we weren't allowing younger members right now, there's still reasons to have censors on. The first is that Pokemon is still largely a kid-friendly game, and the PokeBase probably still attracts a lot of attention from young audiences that don't sign up with an account. Sites like Smogon, who allow mild amounts of swearing, have more of an excuse to allow it since they focus on competitive Pokemon, which will attract more mature audiences. And then there's people like me who'd prefer not to see every post crammed with offensive language.

idk if the censor will be removed if PM does put COPPA rules in place, the site has been clean for a long time, so changing it may annoy some people.

Yeah. Pretty sure a little less than half the site is below the age of 13 (I think)
Where'd you get that idea from?
A wild guess
"soon"
