(Feel free to change the title to something better, I couldn't think of anything else lol.)
Read only the bold text for an tl;dr.

So a couple of days ago I reported two errors regarding banned users here. Fizz asked me to make a separate post about them, so here I am.

  • The first error is that banned users can't access the Rules page. The "Rules" tab straight up disappears from the Pokebase section, and clicking on it from other sections or entering the link to it takes to a page which says "You do not have the permission to perform this operation."
I can't see any reason as to why it should be like this; shouldn't temporarily banned users instead be encouraged to read the rules so they don't break them in the future if they return.

  • The second error is that banned users can't see the "Gender" box on profiles. Now this might just be a small thing, but noted noted that its particularly weird, and might be a problem with the QnA software. Again, I see no reason to why its meant to be that way.
If anything, would it not make more sense to hide the "Country" box on profiles from banned users? They might be plotting some IP hacking shenanigans out of spite against the staff who banned them, and the Country box would be a confirmation of the IP since a country has a specific range of IPs.

That's it for the post, have a nice day.

I’m pretty sure the gender thing is just an error with the code (cool that you found it). I don’t think there’s a need to change it to country though.
I know the Gender box is just an error, but while we were at it I thought might as well mention about the Country box thing. It's a small thing nonetheless and none of the staff members have gotten hacked in the past afaik, so it shouldn't be on PM's priority list.
