Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Yes, I am aware that this question has been asked before, One Time, The Other Time. The comments say: "Just enable force dark mode on your browser." For those of you that don't know, you can set it by typing chrome://flags and then searching for the "force dark mode" option. (Even if your browser isn't Google Chrome, like mine, most browsers make it so that searching this redirects you to the flags page.) I tried this, and, am I the only one that thinks it looks awful?

My suggestion is to make a dark mode option on the site itself for three reasons:

  1. For convivence, because most users don't know how to use experimental browser settings. (At least I don't)
  2. To fix the colors, because just swapping white for black doesn't work, and that's what the default browser dark mode does. I mean, look at how bad the "Meta-Pokebase Q&A" banner looks.
  3. With the browser's dark mode, the pictures look bad, and the color coding for stats gets messed up. Also, you can see through the spoilers:

In summary, It would be nice for the site to get a dark mode option, specifically made with this site in mind.
The default browser dark mode just doesn't cut it.

doubt we're ever getting this, unfortunately. last significant onsite we got from pm made it seem like he'd address issues like promotions and whatnot after he wasn't so busy with PLZA stuff but that was in october. i dont know the ins and outs for chrome/firefox extensions, but surely one could be designed specifically for this website for this purpose? bandaid solution, perhaps, but probably best we'll ever get
