I had to reset the game multiple times because I couldn’t figure out how the PC worked and you need to get the egg in violet city to progress, so I kept resetting. It took multiple attempts because I couldn’t count to 6 Pokemon lol

Yeah lol, kinda insane in hindsight. I remember walking in on my sister playing Pokemon Crystal in the computer room (when those were a thing) on one of those big blocky old computers running windows xp. I wanted to play sooooo badly I started crying and had a temper tantrum. When I got set up to play, I couldn’t read anything, couldn’t figure out where the stairs were, and could barely press the buttons to move. My brother almost revoked my game access since I wasn’t doing anything but when he tried I started wailing and they were like k, fine! And guided me through picking my starter (I picked chikorita btw).

I have no idea the actual time. I have vivid memories of my reason childhood due to a lot of major life events happening. All I know is that my brother put me in front of the computer to play a ROM of Pokemon Crystal and I fell in love. That was my introduction to Pokemon. It was in the house I was born in, and I moved houses when I was 4, so all I know is I was 3 when I fell in love with Pokemon
