Yanmega (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power Ground
- U-turn
Yanmega is why this team was made, because I like choice specs tinted lens so much that I decided to try it out in OU.
Bug Buzz hits pretty much every single Poke in the OU tier, except Heatran who will take a lot of damage from Air Slash and is KOed by HP Ground after Stealth Rock.
Air Slash is also STAB, and helps to finish off things like Keldeo or other things when I should use Air Slash. I can also try to get a flinch.
U-Turn is nice to scout when I see a counter so I can get outta there when it comes in.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
Power Whip is STAB, and hits Water types like Gastrodon and Swampert and Ground types, while Gyro ball hits Dragons.
Stealth Rock is great for Yanmega because it makes everything easier to KO and of course helps the team in general.
Spikes helps even further, and if for example some Pokes are low on health they will be fainted when they come back in if enough hazards are set up.
Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 148 HP / 252 SpA / 108 Spe
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
This is my favorite Magnezone set.
Magnezone hits hard with Choice Specs, having STAB Thunderbolt to hit Water types hard with.
Volt Switch is nice scouting, and also does a lot of damage to most things while switching at the same time. Flash cannon does a lot of damage to Donphan, and helps round out the coverage.
Hidden Power Fire OHKOes Ferro if rain isn't up and Scizor as well.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
Hydro Pump is nice STAB, and Twave helps the team in general outspeed things and if enough things are paralyzed Magnezone Terrakion and Yanmega will probably have an easy time. Rapid Spin spins those sucker hazards outta there, which the team doesn't really like in general.
Recover helps Starmie shrug off stuff like Keldeo's attacks and Politoed's scalds.
Terrakion @ Choice Band
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Earthquake
Close Combat pretty much 2HKOes everything that doesn't resist it, and 2HKOes stuff that do as well.
Stone Edge hits Ghost types that are immune to CC, and hits flying types as well.
X-Scissor hits psychic types harder and more reliably than the other moves, and Earthquake revenges Jirachi and Tentacruel which I'm actually finding use for.
Chandelure (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power Ice
I need a scarfer, and the Fighting immunity is really nice.
Chandelure also helps stop Breloom.
Shadow Ball hits pretty hard, and can late game sweep pretty well if checks are out.
Fire Blast hits Jirachi hard, and other stuff as well.
Energy ball hits water types like Rotom and Politoed.
HP Ice hits Dragons and Landorus and Gliscor.
