So this is me finally posting a new team which has been doing pretty well. That said I only made it late last night before tweaking it this morning. So it has not been tested any more than 11 times as of posting but I have tones of homework to do this weak and honestly I doubt I'll have time to do this any other time. So far it is 9-2 which is pretty decent by anyone's standards (though I did hax out 2 people big time).
So Basically I love Shaymin and have used it in all but one or two of my teams from the last 2-3 months and I had been using it to great success. So this is yet another team with Shaymin included though this one is the most successful out of the lot. I'm not keen on Scizors position in the team as its very predictable and is easy to check occasionally leaving me at a disadvantage. I hate Scizor really and try never to use it but with the resistances and priority it provided it seemed almost a must have. Everything else seems to work nicely though apart from the Scarfed physical Landorus who I am also not to keen on. It also feels very predictable despite the fact the variant I use is generally not used anymore.
So any suggestions feel free to comment because I quite like this team and am planning on using it for some time though it still has several flaws that stop the team from reaching its full potential and all that rubbish....
Hodgeheg (Shaymin) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 200 Spd / 140 SAtk / 168 HP
Modest Nature
- Rest
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Earth Power
Has anyone ever read the Hodgeheg? I read it years ago and loved it :D
Anyway so Shaymin is basically similar to Celebi in the fact it has almost the exact same perks and less weaknesses like a 4x Bug weakness or a fear of Tyranitar. Though it does have some problems in the fact that its singular grass typing is almost as unfortunate as being a poison type. That all said I find it very effective. It can pull off an offensive set very well while being able to tear apart cores which Celebi usually fails to do almost being forced to be choiced in order to fulfill an offensive role.
Another thing about Shaymin is that it is almost never used and therefore many players never know what to expect. Even those who know what Shaymin has to offer tend to be quite unsure being so unfamiliar with the sets it tends to use. This allows me to rid of Pokemon like Ferrothorn early in the game which it checks incredibly well by avoiding Leech Seed, being able to switch out to loose paralysis and attack with HP Fire.
Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Pursuit
- Fire Blast
So I fancied running sand which now come to think of it really isn't so beneficial to my team.... That said Tyranitar on its own can be a force rekon with. Thanks to its evs it can sponge hits from Water types and the Lati twins all day and it can catch Pokemon like Ferro and Gliscor off guards. It sets up rocks which is very important for any team really.
Terrakion @ Choice Band
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Sacred Sword
- X-Scissor
Terrakion Smash!
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 220 Spd / 232 HP / 56 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Rotom-W is almost a must for sand teams being able to just hit Rain teams where it hurts while also acting as a sturdy tank and offensive pivot. Wil o Wisp helps deal with Pokemon like Scizor and Ferro easier allowing Terrakion to start a sweep while Pain Split can be extremely helpful when the opponent thinks I'm finished. Hydro Pump hits allot of stuff hard especially in rain which means Pokemon like Thundurus and others without a resistance are going to get hit hard. Whatever Hydro Pump doesn't hit hard Volt Switch will with a few exceptions.
Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 Atk
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Why use scarf Sheer Force Landorus on a sand team? I see tones of people do it and its kind of redundant when Sand Force hits just as hard while allowing you to use its stronger attack stat. This allows me to throw off powerful U-turns while still killing what I need to with HP ice. U-turn acts as a check to many Pokemon namely Celebi while gaining momentum. Earthquake is a deadly stab which hits very hard and deals with Celebis friends being Jirachi and Heatran. I would love to Expert Belt this guy allowing me to use more reliable Smack down and troll with Pokemon like Rotom-W but a scarfer is needed and Band Terrakion helps deal with massive threats like Conkeldurr when needed.
Scizor @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 156 HP / 112 Spd / 240 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Bug Bite
- Superpower
Mehhhhh
yeah....
erm
Suggestions are welcome
