Hello everyone! I'm new to Pokemon Database, so correct me if I did anything wrong. So here is my very first team in Doubles which is a Hail team.
Abomasnow @ Quick Claw
Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Gentle Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Ice Shard
- Protect
The only Hail inducer available. I had a feeling that it wouldn't go first no matter how much Speed EVs I invest on it, so I gave it a Quick Claw instead. The EV build was actually suggested by the teambuilder, and without thinking further I clicked on the suggestion. Surprisingly it saved my Abomasnow from being OHKO quite frequently.
Froslass (F) @ Ice Gem
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Blizzard
- Shadow Ball
- Destiny Bond
- Protect
A weird addition to my team, Froslass' greatest asset is her high Speed. She is an absolute glass cannon, she either hits hard with STAB+Ice Gem-boosted Blizzard (Perfect accuracy in Hail), or she gets OHKO-ed. Her Ghost-typing is excellent, as Fake Out doesn't work on her, so I immediately Protect another teammate whenever I see a Hitmontop or Mienshao. Also, she's a good switch-in on Medicham, as its Hi Jump Kick would miss. Finally, Destiny Bond.... is my only way to get past Kyurem-B and Volcarona. <-- I really need help on this issue.
Roserade @ Expert Belt
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Weather Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Protect
Roserade hits really hard with Leaf Storm, OHKO-ing even Suicune, thanks to Expert Belt. Weather Ball is a situational move, I use it to counter Dragon-types. However, other weathers may be in play and thus render the whole move useless. Hidden Power [Fire] is my best bet to defeat opposing Abomasnow and the less common Ferrothorn.
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Protect
The invaluable member of my team. It hits almost everything hard with STAB+Life Orb-boosted Earthquake. It can take Heat Wave surprisingly well due to spread moves' power deduction and Thick Fat. It has excellent synergy with Dragonite, spamming Earthquakes all the way.
Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Shell Smash
- Protect
Ahhh. The risky one. Focus Sash is to ensure it successfully uses Shell Smash and start attacking like nobody's business. Protect is very handy as opposing Pokemon love to revenge kill with priority, so I try to delay them while making another teammate kill the priority-using Pokemon.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- ExtremeSpeed
- Fire Punch
Dragonite actually doesn't fit well in a Hail team.... Hail causes it to lose a little HP each turn, forcing me to give it Leftovers in order to keep Multiscale intact. Thus, an item slot is wasted here. But all its moves are excellent, with hard-hitting ExtremeSpeed helping my teammates to survive. Fire Punch is specifically for Ferrothorn and Scizor.
Overall, I actually really really love All Hail team. However, I have a plethora of Pokemon / issues that I have a hard time getting past them, namely:
- Kyurem-B
- Volcarona
- Trick Room teams
- Even faster Pokemon
- Heat Wave or any Fire-type moves
Do help me think of counters that I should beware of, and any changes I should make in my team, including replacing any Pokemon / item / nature / move / EV build--practically anything! And do suggest team synergy if possible.
Thanks a lot everyone! Have a nice day!
