Hi, and welcome to another UU team. I’ve had some teams lying around for some time now and, well, since everything will change with X&Y, I better post them before they get completely outdated.

Altaiagffa

two noobs by the names of Jofly and FlaaffySwampert decided to make a UU team. This was long before any of them actually knew something about UU and the Pokemon. Their creation,
Whimsicott Scrafty Nidoking Sableye Blastoise Miltank
sadly didn’t work. It wasn’t very good and both abandoned it to work on better things.
But one day Flafpert, now no longer a noob with UU, found the team again and he set out to make it work!

So, I don’t even remember what was in the original version of this team accurately. Miltank was added in the second edition. Yeah, long time ago. I used tremendous amount of trial and error to get this team where it is today, and thus the team building process is a bit wonky, but I will make it as graspable as possible.

So starting of, 3 of the original 2nd edition members made it to the final team:
Sableye Blastoise Miltank

These make up our defensive core, being great for stalling, crippling and supporting each other and they stayed on the team when others came and went.

At one point in time it became clear I wanted a Fire type (stinking Bronzong's were walling me senseless). At the same time, Ground was an issue, so I couldn’t really have a Fire type without it messing up my synergy. But, there is one Fire type that rules the sky supreme, far from the worries of Earthquakes and Sand Attacks:

Moltres

Yup, I’m mad. But Moltres unique Ground immunity worked perfect on the team and I already had a spinner in the form of Blastoise so it actually works pretty darn well.

Very early I replaced Nidoking with Nidoqueen due to its better bulk. But, it had issues. I really wanted that Bolt-Beam combo, but I had a big trouble with Water types, both sweepy and bulky. And anyone who played UU knows you should never have a problem with Water or you won’t survive very long. So, what Pokemon have Bolt-Beam and resists Water?

Rotom of course!

Finally, I just wanted a good physical sweeper that wouldn’t mess up my synergy to badly and something to deal with Heracross that wrecked me at the time. So here is:
Mienshao

Despite only 50% of the team is UU, it still works there. So with the members decided, let’s look at the sets:

Sableye @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 244 SDef / 12 Spd
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Night Shade
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
If I had any musical talent I would be writing a love song to Sableye. It’s your standard annoying little cave goblin, just with 3 extra speed to firmly outrun any other Sableye. Taunt shuts walls, such as Umbreon and Bronzong down, Will-To-Miss softens up physical attackers to make them useless, Night Shade is solid damage when I need it and Recover is there to keep it annoying for longer periods of time.

Blastoise @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Dragon Tail
- Protect

Well, it’s a Blastoise. It spins. Its phazes. It scouts. It burns stuff. It’s just standard, but standard works.

Miltank (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Stealth Rock
- Milk Drink
- Heal Bell
Ah, everyone’s favorite physical wall. I understand its NU with its subpar offense and SDef, but it’s so good in UU. It walls everything Fire in the tier, its fast(for a wall) and it’s a phenomenal supporter with SR and Heal Bell. Seismic Toss is for some nice solid damage and Milk Drink is recovery. Sure, it’s walled completely by Ghosts, but I’m willing to endure that when I have my Bessie with me.

Moltres @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Air Slash
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Hidden Power [Grass]
CS Molters for once. This big bird can shine no matter what. It hit hard and has really solid coverage just with its STAB Air Slash and Flamethrower. HP Grass hit incredibly handy, allowing it to deal massive damage to a lot of things coming to set up Stealth Rocks. Surprisingly, Moltres works quite well as a lead, dispatching SR setters before they can even trouble me. Its normal prey includes Rhyperior, Swampert and Gligar.

Rotom-Mow @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 Satk/ 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Leaf Storm
- Trick
- Volt Switch
There’s nothing like a warm summer day, toiling with the lawnmower, raging, praying and kicking it to make it work. Luckily, Rotom-Mow is a top notch home appliance, working just amazing without any form of maintenance, fuel or spiritual ritual. HP Ice is coverage, Leaf Storm is STAB of doom, Volt Switch gets my momentum going and Trick is there to shut down walls such as Bronzong and Umbreon.

Mienshao @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Hi Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Aerial Ace
Last, but not least, Mienshao. The set is fairly standard, with Hi Jump Miss as monster STAB, U-Turn for scouting and Stone Edge for coverage. Aerial Ace is a crummy move, but it serves a very specific purpose on this team, countering Heracross. No matter what variant, Heracross will fall to the power of Choice Scarf Shao! I decided to use 2 Scarfers btw because I like the certainty of speed and this is an overall very slow team, so that extra speed is vital under many circumstances.

That's all from me this time, hope you enjoyed, have a good day, bye bye!

Glad to see Rotom-Mow getting more use in UU. It's typing suits the UU metagame perfectly :)
Indeed, why its RU is beyond me. It's Grass type is fenomenal and its defended solid.
