How professionals make intros

I was going on about how OP Lanturn is, and then I decided I should make a mono water team. Since it gets Volt Absorb, it's a great addition to the team because it soaks up one of water's primary weaknesses. In addition to Lanturn, I wanted to try out Mega Gyarados. I've never used it before, and I've always doubted it. And yeah, I was wrong.

How professionals showcase their teams

Fat Mais Heureux (Lanturn) (F) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 232 Def / 252 HP / 24 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Stockpile
- Rest
- Scald
- Ice Beam
If you still haven't figured out how good Lanturn is, you might want to try out this set. If you set up even one stockpile, you're going to last quite a while. Especially against physical attackers that are prone to burn, because scald can handle them very quickly. Ice Beam is for coverage, since water is resisted by quite a lot. It also comes in handy vs things such as Noivern, Dragonite, Salamence, Landorus, Gliscor, and countless more.

Crevette Mega (Gyarados) (M) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
I can either use Blastoise, or this guy. The obvious choice, I chose Gyarados. It has amazing bulk, and it's gonna OHKO anything it outspeeds. Just set up, say, two dragon dances, and it's over. It gets 150 base attack, it's not like it even needs the attack boost. Mold-Breaker deals with pesky Rotom-W and Gastrodon. Ice Fang for Dragons + Landorus + Gliscor.
![][9]
Pikablue (Azumarill) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Aqua Tail
- Play Rough
- Superpower
You can't just not have a Fairy on your team, especially in monotype. It is essential to soak up Outrages from Dragons. You also need some kind of priority, in which I have Aqua Jet for. With Choice Band, that's going to do a lot more than you think. Aqua Tail + Play Rough are basically the same thing but different types, and they both get STAB boost. Superpower is for extra coverage.
![][10]
Dock Ock (Tentacruel) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Rain Dish
EVs: 240 Def / 252 HP / 16 Spd
Bold Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Knock Off
Rapid Spin + Toxic Spikes support is the main reason why I added this guy. The rest is obvious. Standard Doc Ock set.
![][11]
Il Va Costa (Carracosta) @ Salac Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Waterfall
- Shell Smash
- Earthquake
Step One: Shell Smash
Step Two: Get down to Sturdy health
Step Three: Eat Salac Berry, gain extra speed boost, then sweep.
The only thing you have to worry about is hitting the Stone Edge when needed.
![][12]
Frogger (Politoed) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Focus Blast
I love this set. So many people portray Politoed as a support or stall pokemon, and when I use a choice specs rain boosted Hydro Pump, they never see it coming. If I lead with Poli, I almost always get a OHKO depending on the opposing lead.
>252+ SpA Choice Specs Politoed Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Deoxys-D in Rain: 178-211 (58.5 - 69.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Just look at that. Do you even understand the power this thing wields? With a variety of coverage moves, it's a killing machine. Don't underestimate frogs.

Or you could go Weakness Policy on Carracosta and spam +4 Aqua Jet :I
gg dude this seems like very solid water type team!
Gligurr learned the power of SpecsToed. Good job man, just Carracosta>Cloyster? Too Sturdy reliant imo.

Personally I think you should you should consider using the white herb with Carracosta to prevent having a lowerd def. and  Sdef.  However overall I think this is a great team
