Pokémon Rate My Team

I felt like making a team. So I did.

It's a sun team, which means it benefits from sunny weather. But the only problem is that only 2 of the Pokémon benefit from sun! (I think so, see if you can see anything else on it that does.) So as well as normal suggestions, could you also please find any other way it could benefit more from sun.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze ---> Drought
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse

So Charizard leads and mega evolves to set up the sun. I maxed it's speed out so it can be the fastest on my team and do better as it comes out first. Flamethrower because it's powered up by sun, and Solar Beam because it only takes one turn in sun, and Dragon Pulse and Air Slash for coverage and more attackiness.

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Slack Off

Very defensive annoying wall. Spams Calm Mind to even out it's defences and raise it's killing power. Then uses Scald or Psyshock (I use Scald over Psyshock first when neither is super effective because of the burn) to kill. And finally Slack Off to restore health, and possibly a switch to restore even more.

Excadrill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 128 HP / 128 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- X-Scissor
- Rapid Spin

My next fast one, and this time he's physical. Swords Dance for more attack, Earthquake no reason needed, X-Scissor coverage, Rapid Spin to clear traps, especially stealth rocks which have a bad effect on Charizard.

Conkeldurr @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Drain Punch
- Facade
- Bulk Up
- Stone Edge

OP bulky sweeper. Drain Punch STAB attack that recovers health, Facade
has legendary power with flame orb, guts and attack double, Bulk Up not always needed, only for when he's trying to get past a wall, Stone Edge to cover weakness.

Tangrowth @ Heat rock
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SAtk / 128 Spd / 128 HP
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Sunny Day
- Solar Beam
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

More bulk, and actually benefits from sun. (Yay!) Sunny Day for back up sun, Solar Beam STAB, taking one turn in sun, Hidden Power for coverage and sun power up, Synthesis to get health back, restores ⅔ of max health in sun.

Aegislash @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword
- King's Shield
- Shadow Sneak

This is the one I'm not sure about. He is good, but I'm not sure that he fits on my team. I will accept any suggestions about what I should replace him with.

Swords Dance for more attack, Sacred Sword is a powerful attack, Shadow Sneak for priority and STAB, King's Shield to get back into Shield Form.

So there is my team. If you have any improvements, please reply.

Thanks!

To start out with, this team is very good. Fortunately, I have had some experience with sun teams and can help you out.

Charizard - Absolutely perfect. Great set.

Slowbro - Water-type Pokémon do not do well on a sun team, since sunlight reduces power of Water-type moves. I would replace Slowbro for a Magic Guard Clefable.

Clefable @ Flame Orb/Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonlight
- Moonblast/Stored Power
- Flamethrower

The reason I'm suggesting Clefable is because (1) it's an amazing competitive Pokémon and (2) it restores 2/3 of your HP in sunlight. It'll definitely benefit the team.

Excadrill - Good set, except switch Earthquake for Rock Slide. It'll give you more coverage, especially against Flying-types.

Conkeldurr - If you want, swap this Pokémon for Ursaring. It has fewer weaknesses, is better at taking special attacks, and gets STAB with Facade. This is purely optional, however.

Tangrowth - I like the idea of a Chlorophyll Grass-type on a sun team, but Tangrowth definitely can't be a very good sweeper. If I were you, I'd swap it for Victreebel.

Victreebel @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Weather Ball
- Energy Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Growth

Victreebel is a much better sun sweeper.

Aegislash - You're right. Even though Aegislash is a good competitive Pokémon to have, it isn't really suited for a sun team. My suggestion for the last team member is Ninetales. Ninetales the Pokémon that every sun team has, because unlike Charizard, it can hold a Heat Rock to extend the sun's duration. It's always great to have an extra sun setter, and I don't think it's worth it to subtract from other Pokémon's held item and moves. Here's a Ninetales set I would recommend:

Ninetales @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 Spd / 128 SAtk / 128 HP
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Will-O-Wisp

You can, of course, change it up to whatever set suits you best.

So anyway, that's what I think of the team and how you could improve it. If you have questions about anything, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you whenever I can. Hope I helped!

Thanks for the suggestions. Now I'll definitely switch tangrowth with victreebel. It looks better in every way.

But I don't think I'll replace conkeldurr, because facade is already powerful enough, and can ohko almost anything that doesn't resist normal or have a massive defence stat.
Ok.  Sounds good.  Glad I could help! :)
