Replace your Gyarados's dragon tail for a better dragon type move.
Then suggest a Dragon move that works better on this particular set? Dragon Tail is there primarily to force switches on people, not for type coverage or dealing damage.
I'd say Outrage - for its sheer power ( besides Dragon Tail, Outrage is the only physical Dragon move Gyarados has access to ). Since your gyarados is mega, why not replace DT with Crunch as it gives STAB ?
You're missing the point. His Gyarados is not an offensive one. It's not the one that brings down through brute force. This one's meant to stall out the opponent and last on the field. Hence, in lieu of offensive moves, a phazing move like Dragon Tail is preferred.
Yeah...sorry bout that. It's just that his Gyarados is mega and the defensive variant prefers the non- Mega with leftovers. In that case, the EVs on Atk should be moved to Def and S.Def .
