VG 2017 RMT

Question

hello! my name is Joe and this is my first attempt at a VGC 2017 team :). firstly let me just say that i really really do not like using the tapu pokemon or the ultra beasts because it feels cheaty :L not a big fan of legendary pokemon in competitive. So this is my first VGC 2017 team, i would be more than welcome to any improvements or tips people have. the suggestions dont necessarily have to be a trick room team but this is the dynamic ive found the most success with in VGC 15 and 16 so im most comfortable with it.

Why do you have rare bone on Marowak and no special defense investment or a special defense raising move on Slowbro?

set up on slowbro isn't good in a vgc meta without the mega evolution in my past experience as for the morrowak i haven't used one properly yet so im not sure on good evs but i did get the item wrong lol just a mix up on bones

So why no special defense EVs on it? Its physical defense looks strong enough without a lot of EVs.

using tapus and ub's is fair game man, everybody else does so not even considering them puts yourself at a huge disadvantage. open up a little bit and let go of the idea that legends are all OP, if they were they would be banned

I thought what I said counted as criticism... Still, you should invest in your Slowbro so it has max HP and its two defense stats are about equal.

UB and tapu pokemon are good i will admit that so i could be open to it but i just dont wanna stack my team with them and have just a standard VGC 2017 team, however if you look at the top teams for the VGC tournaments so far hardly any use UB and tapu pokemon

Get these thoughts of 'standard' and generic out of your head. You can experiment with wackier and more out there teams once your main team is good enough and you've improved in skill.
