"Any young girls want to rate my 'pocket monster' ;)))))?"
I've done competitive battling for almost 4 years, and I still suck. Please help me :c
Okay, this team is pretty much a generic, uninteresting OU team. It mostly plays defensively, but hopefully opens up some sweeping possibilities. I'll go (More like "POKEMON go" AHAHAHAH) over the members 1 by 1.
Palazzo (Klefki) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature (+Sp. Defense, -Sp. Attack)
- Spikes
- Play Rough
- Reflect
- Light Screen
This isn't just any Klefki. It's a Klefki... WITH A TWIST! Actually, there's no twist. It's just a generic, boring Klefki moveset. First it'll use Reflect or Light Screen, and then use Spikes a few times. Play Rough is to get rid of any Dark types they send out, since Dark now disables Spikes because of Prankster (I hate some of this new Gen VII stuff). After setting up Spikes, I will hopefully be able to switch Klefki out to either Pyukumuku or Skarmory.
Carcimus (Gyarados) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Attack, -Sp. Attack)
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang
Gyarados, the star of the show... It'll usually start out by having Stockpiles and hopefully the boost from the Weakness Policy passed to it. Intimidate will activate, and then it can Mega Evolve and use Dragon Dance, putting its Speed at a lovely 392, and its Attack at 674 (or 1123 with the Weakness Policy boost). It then can attack all-out with Crunch, Waterfall, and Ice Fang. Mold Breaker lets it demolish those stupid Mimiky- I mean... Pokemon with Sturdy, etc.
LZ-129 Alpha (Drifblim) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Adamant Nature (+Attack, -Sp. Attack)
- Acrobatics
- Stockpile
- Substitute
- Baton Pass
When sent out, Drifblim will use Stockpile and/or Substitute until it has an opportunity to Baton Pass. If they use a super-effective attack, the Weakness Policy and Unburden will activate. This will give an additional boost for the Baton Pass, and make Acrobatics much stronger. It'll Baton Pass to either Gyarados or Jolteon.
Stonewall (Skarmory) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature (+Defense, -Sp. Attack)
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
- Taunt
- Roost
Skarmory will use Stealth Rock to add to the Spikes, and then start whittling away at the opposing Pokemons' HP with Whirlwind. It also knows Roost to heal, and Taunt to prevent them from setting up any entry hazards. If they manage have a Special Attacker out, I can switch into Klefki or Pyukumuku (or Jolteon, if they have an Electric type). Skarmory is pretty much the technician of all the entry hazards, so... I hope they're into "traps" <3
Toxic Pebble (Pyukumuku) @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature (+Sp. Defense, -Attack)
- Memento
- Recover
- Toxic
- Soak
God, this thing is great. Works wonders as a staller with Toxic and Recover. Soak will remove the enemy's S.T.A.B. (if they aren't using Water type moves), and make them able to be poisoned. Its final trick is using Z-Memento, which, in addition to sharply lowering their Attack and Special Attack stats, will fully heal whoever I send out. This could be used for: fully healing Drifblim if it didn't get to use its Weakness Policy the first time, fully healing Skarmory if they've run out of Special Attackers, fully healing my incredibly annoying Klefki so that it can set up screens throughout the rest of the battle, fully healing Gyarados to give it another chance at sweeping by having their attack stats lowered as I Dragon Dance, or fully healing Jolteon, if I need to do that for some reason. Basically, this thing is the ultimate support Pokemon, no matter what situation I am in.
Electric Thunda (Jolteon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Stored Power
- Hidden Power (Ice)
- Volt Switch
Bet you've never seen anyone use Stored Power in competitive battling before xD If Jolteon gets 2 Stockpiles and the Weakness Policy passed to it, Stored Power has a base power of 180. Thunderbolt gets S.T.A.B., and HP Ice gives coverage. With 394 base Speed, it can outspeed scarfed Pokemon with less than 263 Speed, making it mostly untouchable. It has Volt Absorb, so I can switch into it if they're about to use an Electric type move. Then I can just Volt Switch out.
So, how's the team? I sure hope I didn't screw up again c:
