Question

I Understand Salamence Is usually Outclassed by Zygarde, But I wonder if Salamence can have some good use in OU.

4 Def EVs over 4 HP on Magnezone because 4 HP doesn’t make as big of an impact as focusing your EVs on Defense. Also, Choice Scarf over Specs because Magnezone generally OHKOs almost everything, whereas scarf allows him to outspeed Adamant Mimkyu, a tank AV uninvested Landorus-T, and a Jolly max speed invested Mamoswine. Dragon Claw is generally preferred over Stone Edge for STAB where Stone Edge doesn’t offer much. Knock Off is nice utility on Ferrothorn, but Protect is better for free Leech Seed recovery. Substitute on Mawile-Mega is not very helpful because of his pitiful 50 base speed. I would suggest a powerful Steel Type move like Iron Head, to kill fairies like Clefable and Diancie-Mega, and for STAB. Unfortunately, Mawile-Mega’s atrocious speed makes Iron Head virtually never flinch, but 80 BP plus STAB is good enough reason to replace substitute with Iron Head.

Magnozone needs a better nature. Sassy lowers speed and raise so def or sp attack.

When used with a timid nature, Magnezone can actually outspeed a few things. Sassy nature raises special defense, which is relatively useless on Mangezone because it gets targeted by earthquake (and thousand arrows) far more often than any special attack.
