PokePaste Team

So basically I wanted to build a team around psychic surge, and I added sun as a secondary mode.

Indeedee-F (F) @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Psychic Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Helping Hand
- Follow Me
- Protect
- Expanding Force

Obviously, you have to start with the Psychic Surge setter on a Psychic Surge Team! I like support indeedee with safety goggles so you can follow me without worrying about spore/sleep powder.

Hatterene-Gmax (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Bounce
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Dazzling Gleam
- Expanding Force
- Mystical Fire

Basic Hatterene set. Not much to say.

Hawlucha @ Psychic Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Acrobatics
- Iron Head
- Detect

Hawlucha is really nice with a terrain setter because you can automatically activate unburden for basically a free tailwind, plus acrobatic becomes a 110 BP move with no drawbacks. Generally doesn’t want to max because of low BP max moves (obviously max knuckle and max acrobatics is only 110).

Torkoal @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Drought
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Yawn
- Body Press
- Bulldoze
- Protect

Since torkoal works well with trick room I thought it would be good to have a sun mode. It was originally offensive but that left indeedee as my only support mon so I changed it up. Still works well in trick room, can proc T-tar’s weakness policy if necessary, and body press is great because of his max defense.

Venusaur-Gmax @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Energy Ball
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb
- Protect

Standard Venusaur set. I think it needs work, sleep powder’s not my favorite (sometimes the game will be decided turn one based off of whether or not you hit one, which is bad) and I probably don’t need max speed.

Tyranitar @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Sand Stream
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Rock Slide
- Lash Out
- Superpower
- Protect

Not sure about this last slot, I thought that T-tar is good for weather teams and is immune to psyspam, so I kinda slapped him on. Standard trick room set, torkoal can proc weakness policy if necessary but a lot of things will do it for him.

This team is far from perfect, so please let me know any suggestions that you have! Thank you!

Overall this is a good team that need very little editing.

Hatterene, Indeedee, and Hawlucha are all fine unless you want to give Hatterene a Babiri Berry.

Venusaur can replace Protect or Sleep Powder for Earth Power or Weather Ball.

Torkoal (in my opinion) needs a little reworking. Personally, I don't believe Body Press is that good given the fighting coverage you already have try this set

Torkoal @ Charcoal/Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Heat Wave/Solar Beam
- Eruption
- Bulldoze/Solar Beam
- Protect

Tyranitar needs to be switched though. With Sand Stream, you are ruining the whole sun mode. I'd replace Tyranitar with Rhyperior.

Rhyperior (M) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Solid Rock
Level: 50
EVs: 132 HP / 244 Atk / 132 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- High Horsepower
- Rock Slide
- Hammer Arm
- Protect

Or you could get another Trick Room Setter. If you want this I would recommend a standard Dusclops or Porygon2 set.

Other than that, your team is great!

Thank you for the tips! Earth power is good, I agree that my torkoal set isn’t great, and rhyperior is a good idea. I will test with another trick room setter/sweeper. Thanks again!
No problem. I like the same exact team idea too in early July!
