This week I made it to top 1000 (I am a new player so I don’t know if this is good) on the Battle Stadium ladder using this team that I found on a youtube channel. I really enjoyed using it and wanted to make my own version of it. The main modes are weakness policy lapras or sap sipper bouffalant with giga drain Comfey.

Cinderace @ Life Orb
Ability: Libero
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Pyro Ball
- High Jump Kick
- Sucker Punch

Standard Cinderace set. I originally had bounce instead of pyro ball but have been mostly using it late-game with no Dynamax so I swapped it. There have been times when I’ve wished for a max airstream, though.

Lapras-Gmax @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Shell Armor
Level: 50
Gigantamax: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Blizzard
- Thunder
- Protect

The Pokémon I lead with almost every time. The (not new or innovative) strategy is to proc weakness policy with +3 priority giga drain from Comfey. The original set had max speed, but lapras doesn’t outspeed much even at max, so I changed it to bulk. I also changed freeze dry to blizzard for a stronger max move, but I might try ice beam because of all the low accuracy moves. I also don’t know why it’s not min speed.

Comfey @ Babiri Berry
Ability: Triage
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Floral Healing
- Trick Room
- Protect

Comfey works very well with Lapras, the combination of weakness policy, Aurora Veil and Priority Healing is very annoying. EVs aren’t calc’d as far as I know, but Comfey has lived at like 3% sometimes before setting trick room so it seems solid.

Rillaboom-Gmax @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Grassy Surge
Level: 35
Gigantamax: Yes
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 20 SpD / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- Fake Out
- High Horsepower

Standard Rillaboom set. EVs were just copied from Pikalytics.

Togekiss @ Scope Lens
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Air Slash
- Follow Me
- Protect

With the original team, I almost never brought Amoonguss except for one match against and aqua jet intelleon + coalossoal where I needed rage powder. I decided that since I was almost always leading Comfey with either bouffalant or lapras, and never with the other in the back, I always had Rillaboom and Cinderace in the back. I decided that togekiss would be good to fulfill amoonguss’ redirection role and provide another option in the back.

Goodra @ Expert Belt
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Rock Slide
- Iron Tail
- Protect

Finally, Goodra. Goodra and bouffalant completely shut down sun teams because of sap sipper, which is excellent in the meta because of Rillaboom and Venusaur. (Low ladder noobs would gmax vine lash into bouffalant...) Both goodra and bouffalant get rock slide, which also cancels out sun. I was testing goodra instead of bouffalant, but didn’t encounter any sun teams on showdown so I didn’t use it very much. At first, I gave goodra max speed, but thought it was pointless so I shifted it to bulk. To be honest, I’m not sure whether bouffalant or goodra is better here, or what coverage move to run in iron tail’s slot, or if I should go min speed, or if assault vest would be good.

PokePaste of the Team

This team is far from perfect and I’d love to hear any and all suggestions. Thank you!
