Pokémon Rate My Team

As you might know, but probably don't, I'll be facing the third gym leader very soon here. If you've read the rules, I both of us get a random type. Guess what I got? WATER! :D Rate my Mono-water type team.
politoed
Frog? (Politoed) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 244 HP / 144 Def / 120 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Ice Beam

My starter guy. Gets good coverage. Bulky ass politoed. I just decided on this EV spread. I don't know much about politoed so I'm open to suggestions. Remember, I'm facing a mono-bug team. That's why I have hidden power Rock.
omastar
HermitCrab (Omastar) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic Spikes
- Surf

This guy gets up all of my entry hazards. I'd have him with swift swim, but that's against the rules in the gym :\
swampert
Mudmonster (Swampert) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Avalanche
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Hammer Arm

He. Is. A. TANK! I've used him a lot, and I never get around to cursing because somebody always inflicts a status condition, so I'm just going to give him these moves. He is so strong.
feraligatr
Feraligatr (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Punch
- Waterfall
- Rock Slide

Also really powerful, and is more powerful with sheer force/Life orb, and he doesn't take Life Orb Recoil!
starmie
Starfish (Starmie) @ Wise Glasses
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Surf

Starmie. I know he's weak to bug, but he's fast and gets great coverage. Few bug types that I know of out-speed him. Probably in my top 5 for favorite water types.
empoleon
Penguin (Empoleon) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Someone to stand up to those nasty grass/bug types. He's also rather powerful, and is in it for the long haul.

Politoed
Pretty decent Politoed, but I was never a big fan of Focus Blast. You say you're facing a mono-bug team? Why Focus Blast? 1. It has shaky accuracy. 2. Bug types resist it. So see? Replace for Toxic to stall. Otherwise good Politoed :D
____
Omastar
Ok, good if you want to set up Rocks and Spikes. I would have EVs in speed, so you can outspeed bugs to at least set up some rocks. But Shell Smash is allowed in Kyron's gym, right? Omastar is a great Pokemon for Shell Smash.

Omastar @ White Herb / Trait: Shell Armor / EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe / Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
-Shell Smash
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Hidden Power [Rock]
____
Swampert
Use Swampert to set up Rocks. Replace Hammer Arm, it's not doing any favors. Have Ice Punch instead of Avalanche. Besides that, good Swameprt :D
____

Feraligatr
I think Sheer Force Feraligatr is unreleased..... maybe it's not, i dunno :\
Anyway, great Feraligatr, no changes. Though Jolly Nature might just work. Maybe you could fit Crunch in for Rock Slide? I understand that this is going against Mono-Bug, but..... it's your choice in the end.
____
Starmie
C'mon, where's the Rapid Spin? I know that your team isn't weak to rocks at all, but Spikes!?! Toxic Spikes is a danger to your team, I hate poison :\ A lot of of regular Spikes is annoying, too. Replace Psychic for it. Besides, that, pretty good Starmie. nad if you think you can survive one or two hits, Recover might be helpful, but.... it's your choice :D
____
Empoleon
Agility might be useful, it allows you to hopefully outspeed some foes. 252 HP / 4 SpA 252 Spe if yo're going with agility. Or take Smogon's Agility EV set, which is: 40 HP / 24 Def / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
____

Hope this helped, and good luck with your battle! :D

Crunch?! In a bug gym? Not going to happen Flame -_- god answer otherwise, thanks!
no prob :D
but whats bad about crunch?
Rock slide hurts bugs more. It's super effective.
but dark types are normally effective against bug plus crunch has more acc becuase if rock slide misses you are screwed
i dont think one miss is gonna screw him and he can always give an acc boosting item and isnt ice super effective against bug.
1. Yes, one miss could screw him. 2. Accuracy boosting items are very outclassed. 3. No, ice isn't super effective against bug.
*facepalm... Accuracy boosting items are banned.
