i totally was under the same impression you were under too with that question. iirc you can technically catch Pokémon higher than level 100 in gen 1, so we weren't totally off the mark

Please consider not posting on threads that are over a year old too. It’s allowed when you have useful new information but almost every time you do it you don’t have much to add and it unnecessarily bumps the thread. If you think you have something useful to add, please ask a mod before you post.

We are doing what was posted in the OP, double elimination. I feel like it will be tiresome to explain how it works so you can google how double elimination works.

and also, i think it should specify the cap was 255 in gen 1, as 100+ seems vague

Sorry for all the wall posts but some good advice about internet forums and life in general is to just sit and watch how the environment works before saying much and accidentally doing something that breaks rules, isn’t considered good etiquette there, etc.
