I realized I forgot to mention edits. Your posts should have all necessary info when you post them, but if you genuinely miss something you should edit it in as soon as possible. If it's not essential to the question, probably don't edit it in unless it hasn't been very long (more than 12 hours, imo, maybe less). Fix stuff like typos and formatting as soon as possible. Typos especially are something I wouldn't bother with editing after the post is more than a couple hours old, unless it's still getting comments and will probably be bumped again anyway.

Stuff like this is wholly unnecessary in general, and editing it in so long after it's posted is ridiculous. I think if you kept doing that I would have actually gone bald. In general, you shouldn't have to do anything to your answer after it's posted. Proofread before you post. If the post is old and you notice something you could've done better, tough, but it doesn't really matter as long as it answers the question well.
