Also, this is going to be our final request for you to please stop getting into arguments with other people about whether something breaks the rules, or how it should be moderated. If you see a problem like that, please simply leave a flag and do nothing else. It's the job of moderators to tell people what to do on the website and determine what is or isn't okay. You've been told not to do this before -- it's gotten to the point we're going to consider a temp ban if you can't follow the direction. Please keep things civil -- if you feel yourself getting heated, just don't reply at all.

For that rule in particular, I see it as being something we discourage users from doing, but not to the extent where we feel the need to remove those answers, especially since the question itself will be hidden within a few days, anyway. And even more so because that question was closed for being a dupe. If it were a highly opinionated or troll question, I’d probably take a bit of a harsher stance, since those questions more obviously break the rules and, in the worst case scenario, could encourage some stubborn users to continually ask these kind of questions because they know they’ll get answers before they’re closed. But for dupe questions, I’m pretty lenient on that rule since it doesn’t really affect the site in any way.

That being said, if we’re able to determine that a user is purposely and repeatedly ignoring this rule to spite the rules and the staff team, then that could still warrant punishment, although this has never happened on the site to my knowledge.
