Okay so, assuming you already have your rom downloaded, you just open up the emulator, click File, and then Open. then search for the rom file and click it.
Alternatively you can open the emulator and drag the rom from a folder/desktop into it

If you just get a white screen, you need to go to Options -> Emulator -> Save Type -> Flash 128K -> File -> Reset

also please remember not to displace or delete your save file(s) once you get one -_-

"I think" wow r00d. How come the uncertainty xD Btw I second seraph down there, VisualBoyAdvance is the best GBA emulator, and imo DeSmume is the best DS emulator.

The program can't harm your computer, but if you don't download it from the right place you might end up with a virus or some kind of program that could be considered malicious. I recommend downloading from coolrom or emuparadise (if emuparadise even has the thing for download, i'm honestly not sure). coolrom will give you their own downloader thing which you can keep or just delete from your computer afterwards. But be sure to DECLINE or cancel any kind of ad or software it prompts you to get, and be careful so that if it gives you the option (select "custom" instead of "recommended" if it says something like that.. i haven't downloaded anything from CR for a while so I forgot) to decline these things. Also, if you click the button and it doesn't respond at first, DO NOT click it again, as the installer may just be going slow, and if you click it you might end up clicking accept to one of the programs.


TL;DR- Just download it and don't accept any addons, and you'll be fine. If you do make a mistake, you can just uninstall anything you got from your computer. I don't think CoolRom has anything that can do real damage to your computer other than annoying advertisements.

VisualBoyAdvance is probably the best GBA emulator out there, and most if not all people (as in people that rom hack or do walkthroughs/LPs) use it. There's different versions of the emulator, but any is fine, preferrably the most recent.
