Why doesnt my nidoqueen receive life orb damage?

Question

I gave my nidoqueen the life orb but whenever I use it, it doesnt receive recoil damage from it so does anyone know why?

Its abilities Sheer Force will prevent the recoil from Life Orb, as long as you use a attack that will activate the ability.
