I need help on deciding which Ferrothorn build is better in competitive play, this will be the first Pokemon I EV train and such, so I'm uncertain of what works, and what doesn't.

I was planning on having both leech seed and stealth rock on my Ferrothorn, but I was told that in the 5th generation it isn't possible, so instead I have two potential builds around either move-

Leech seed Ferrothorn
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Ironbarbs
Ev's: 252 Hp, 128 Defense, 128 S.Defense
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, - Spe)

Leech seed- in lieu of leftovers, he can receive healing and instead hold the rocky helmet for physical hits
Toxic- Poisons the target
Protect- Free leech seed and toxic ticks
Gyro ball- I'm under the impression that you're wasting the low speed of this Pokemon without this stab

Stealth rock Ferrothorn
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Ironbarbs
Ev's: 252 Hp, 252 Defense, 4 Attack
Nature: Brave (+Atk, -Spe)

Stealth rock- Important because it's an entry hazard and may discourage your opponent from switching in fire types
Power whip- Stab and hits hard
Gyro ball- Boosted by the nature, stab, etc.
Curse- Stat increase, lowers speed, subsequently helping gyro ball and power whip

Honest feedback please, let me know if these are bad or any way to improve these-
Thank you

That looks better than what I have, but how do I breed both of the egg moves?  Is there a Pokemon who can pass both of them?

Well, why not both?

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet

Trait: Iron Barbs

EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def

Relaxed Nature

  • Power Whip
  • Stealth Rock
  • Leech Seed
  • Thunder Wave / Spikes

This is one of Ferro's most effective sets.

This would create a pokemon who can normally take a hit(except for fire) and then you can just do all these entry hazards and such. I like it.
