Soft Reseting for Shinies Question (Black2/White2)?

So if I soft reset until I get a shiny, meh lets say Azelf, will it reset my RNG(random number generator) back to start, or will it just ignore it because soft reseting is really just reseting until it is the desirable number?

Yes That WOULD work. Soft Resetting works by setting the nature to different one. E.G, It was Adamant, Now, it is Hardy. It MIGHT work with Shinnies. It is not the quickest way though but this is the answer. Source- My brain
