Double focus band survival at one hp!?

They had a focus band. I attacked to inflict the death blow. they just survived with the band. I attacked again. They survived again!! Double focus band survival. Am I going crazy or can it really happen?

The Focus Band item gives you a 10% chance of holding on with 1HP. (This is different to the Focus Sash which only works if you had full HP when hit.)

So what happened is the band activated on the first hit, and also on the second hit. It's a small chance (1/100) but it's possible.
