Cause I'm going really bad

Remember this: there is no such thing as a bad PKMN Trainer when it comes to tournaments. There are good trainers and there are better ones.
A lot of factors come into play when considering the ability of a Trainer and his/her PKMN. For example, the PKMN's types and movesets are a place to start, but others go deeper into things like EV-training and IV-breeding. That kind of training can be meticulous and time-consuming, so you gotta step back for a few minutes and think about what it is you're looking for in a PKMN battle / game.

Just because you didn't do well in a tournament doesn't mean you're bad, it just means that there are some people who have devoted themselves to competitive battles a little more than you. Remember, video games are entertainment and not this "who's the macho man that can beat everybody? I'll make him king of earth!" Contest or something.

Yup. You suck, should probably give up on Pokemon right here and now.

Just Kidding!
Depends on the tournament, and how long you've been playing. If you've been playing Pokemon since the very first game was released, scrutinizing every statistic calculation and equation, and have just been crushed in the n00bie tournament for n00bie n00bs, then it might not be your cup of tea. But if you just entered the world championship for OU Pokemon battle, and lost 1 to 0 by only 1 health point, then I wouldn't take it to heart.

It depends on the circumstance.

You know, the trainers that join the tournament aren't all as weak is the ones you randomly battle on wifi
