Is There a reason the man In Petalburg woods talks about Shroomish?

He says he's in the woods looking for a shroomish, could he have said any other Pokemon? Does he (or any of his Devon Corp colleagues) ever mention shroomish again?

I don't think so. His just a researcher and he claims to be looking for Shroomish in the Petalburg Woods because you have a 15% of finding a Shroomish! xD
And no none of his colleagues talk about Shroomish. Ever Again.
