Can you use a DS to connect two GBA games?

I have Pokemon ruby and Pokemon fire red for GBA.

I have two Nintendo DS.

Can I trade Pokemon on the GBA games using the DS?

You would need a link cable to connect the two ds systems since wifi was only introduced starting in gen4.

Nope, you need a link cable to connect the two games, and the link doesnt fit the Ds. Sorry bout that.
