Its relic song
He posted this before it was released. Ancient Song is a translation of the Japanese name for it, since that's all there was back then.
Actually, Serene Grace is it's only ability.   :-P
Attack? Why not make it a special sweeper or a Special wall?
his using her physical form.
At what level meloetta learns relic song pokebase doesn't provide the level
Meloetta does not learn Relic Song by leveling, she learns it from a "Tutor" (On Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon).

In order to change Meloetta's forms, you must travel to the Hano Grand Resort located in Akala island. Once there, enter the resort and travel to the left. You will see a man in a blue shirt standing next to a Meowth. Speak to the man and he will teach Meloetta the move Relic Song.

Hope this helps :)

While the legendaries this Gen were not up to par with Gen 4, we have some good ones. Meloetta is one of them. It's ability to take down any defensive foe (excluding Shuckle, Bronzong, and Dusknoir) makes it a valuable addition to OU, where teams can be using Blissey one minute, and Foretress the next. I have a few movesets for it.

  1. Mixed.

Ability: Serene Grace

EVs: Attack, Sp Attack, Speed Nature: Hasty

Ancient Song: ALlows this Pokemon to be a mixed attacker.

Close Combat: A powerful Fighting attack for use with Step forme. Death to Blissey!

Shadow Ball: Deals with Ghost types, and has a good Sp Def lowering chance.

Psychic/Stone Edge: Which one, STAB or type coverage?

by
I say STAB. You'll be kicking yourself if you go against a Fighting type without Psychic.
Relic Song
In all honesty, I recommend Focus Blast instead of Close Combat, seeing as it's also really powerful and, unlike Close Combat, it has no recoil(such as stats being lowered). Just a friendly recommendation, though! You don't have to replace Close Combat with Focus Blast if you don't want to!

  1. Voice Form

Ability: Serene Grace

EVs: Sp Attack, Sp Def, Speed Nature: Timid

Psycho Shock/Psychic: Psycho Shock deals with those who have high Sp Def, while Psychic has higher base power.

Thunder/Charge Beam: Either have a low accuracy, but powerful move with a high paralyze chance,or a way to raise Special ATtack.

Shadow Ball: Good Sp Def lowering rate, and deals with Ghost types.

Calm Mind/Hyper Voice/Focus Blast: STat raising (only if you don't have Charge Beam), STAB with no type coverage, or type coverage but low accuracy.

Look at her! so damn cute (and deadly).

Meloetta @ Leftovers*
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 132 HP / 252 SpA / 120 SpD
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast/Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Calm Mind

Focus Blast covers Dark types while Thunderbolt is alot more reliable and provides better coverage.
Calm Mind to provide moar powah and Special Defense.
Substitute to somewhat guarantee Calm Mind and for other obvious reasons.
Psyshock STAB and because screw you, special walls.
*The Leftovers support Meloetta's Special Defense.

Meoletta

Item - silk scarf/leftovers

ability - Serene Grace

  • relic song - changes meloetta to step form. may put foe to sleep (30% chance)
  • hyper voice - good power
  • close combat - awesome power
  • acrobatics - acrobatics is a good move because its power doubles if the user is holding no item. However, if the user is holding a flying gem it will be used before the move has time to calculate its power, so it triples!

Meloetta

Very difficult case. I recently got mine and I have two. I was planning that one will stay in Piruette Form while the other keeps its Aria Form, but turns out that if you use Relic Song during battle, Meloetta will reset anyway to Aria Form, which really does suck. My solution for the problem is that I will use one that will always be changing Formes, whenever I feel like it and the other that never will learn Relic Song.

Moveset #1: Form Changer
Nature: Bashful/Hardy/Docile/Serious/Quirky (the neutral ones, they're safest)
Ability: Serene Grace

  • Relic Song Signature move, Form changing and Serene Grace gives an increased chance of causing sleep on enemy.
  • Psychic STAB in Aria, coverage in Piruette Form.
  • Close Combat Extra-Mega-Ultra-Powerful in Piruette Form, but if it is needed, it can be used as coverage in Aria Form.
  • Shadow Claw: None of the other moves affect Ghost types (Psychic only works on Gengar) therefore this is a must.

You may notice that I have two Physical and two Special moves in the moveset above. In case you make an adjustment to it, keep two of each if you want a Form changing Meloetta. If not, try my other moveset.

Moveset #2: Aria Form Meloetta
Nature: Timid (decrease the Attack stat for some speed which Aria Meloetta unfortunately lacks. I'm into speedy Pokemon.)
Ability: Serene Grace

  • Hyper Voice High-Powered Special move that proves that Meloetta does sing. Also is a STAB.
  • Psyshock Your enemy will be expecting the unexpected now. If however that move doesn't work for you, you may always replace it with Psychic.
  • Focus Blast For the coverage. Give Meloetta the Wide Lens to increase accuracy.
  • Thunder Wave/Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball: Having the opponent paralyzed is pretty handy, especially that it also halves your opponent's speed (I recently found that out). Also if you miss with Focus Blast, they're less likely going to be able to take advantage of that. However Shadow Ball gives you the chance to hit most Ghost types effectively, which you can't really do with the other three. I can't decide. Help me out by posting some comments to this answer!

Meloetta is an extremely underrated Pokémon with amazing competitive potential - Serene Grace with Relic Song is way too good.

Meloetta @ Big Root

Mild Nature
- Psychic
- Drain Punch
- Relic Song
- Hyper Voice / Dazzling Gleam / U-Turn

Meloetta @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Timid (+Speed -Atk)
EV's: 252 Def, 250 Sp. Atk, 4 Spd.

  • Relic Song (Allows Meloetta to change formes.)

  • Shadow Ball (Counters ghosts.)

  • Calm Mind (Powers up Meloetta.)

  • Psychic ( Very powerful move, STAB for Aria Meloetta.)

Another option might be:

Meloetta @ Focus Sash
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Modest (+Sp. Atk -Atk)
EV's: 252 HP, 240 Sp. Def, 6 Spd.

  • Relic Song (Allows Meloetta to change formes.)

  • Close Combat (STAB for Pirouette Meloetta, awesome move.)

  • U-Turn (Can finally hit a move on ghosts, counters psychics, escapes if urgent.)

  • Dream Eater (Heals if foe is asleep.)

Cadenza (Meloetta) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Relic Song
- Focus Blast
- Psychic
- U-turn
You already know what Relic Song is in the moveset for
Focus Blast is to deal with Rock, Steel, Normal, Ice, and Dark Types
Psychic is to handle Fighting and Poison types
U-turn is to deal damage to Grass types, Dark Types, and other Psychic types.
Information taken directly from the Pokemon Showdown desktop application(or whatever it's called) as I finished setting her(I know Meloetta is technically genderless, so please don't come at me for referring to Meloetta as a female!) up for one of my teams consisting of Pokemon all from a certain type. Cadenza happens to be the first Pokemon in a pure Normal team.
One last thing. For those who don't know, the name Cadenza means rhythmic. Since this name has the meaning it does, I thought "well, why not give Meloetta the nickname Cadenza? It is a music related name, and Meloetta is known as the Melody Pokemon, so it makes perfect sense to me." And what do you know, Meloetta received the nickname Cadenza.

Gen 7 / Gen 8 ?

Meloetta @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 128 Atk / 128 SpA / 248 Spe
Naive Nature

  • Dream Eater: User gains 1/2 HP inflicted. Sleeping target only.
  • Relic Song: 10% chance to sleep foe(s). Meloetta transforms.
  • Shadow Ball: 20% chance to lower the target's Sp. Def by 1.
  • Wake-Up Slap: Power is doubled if target is asleep, and wakes it.

  • Overview: Everything sort of "contrasts" everything else. Relic Song's secondary effect is doubled due to Serene Grace, which means Wake-Up Slap can be used more often. That's a solid 140 Power. Dream Eater is also complimentary of Relic Song. & Shadow Ball is just coverage. {Feedback is appreciated.)

Meloetta @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic (Stab)
- Hyper Voice (Stab)
- Thunderbolt (Coverage)
- Shadow Ball/Dazzling Gleam (Shadow Ball could be used for coverage and has a 40% chance to lower the opponents special defense by 1 which is useful if Meloetta isn't doing enough damage. Dazzling gleam is coverage and a counter to Meloetta's Dark type weakness.)

by
Shadow Ball only has a 20% chance to lower the opponent's Special Defense.
Meloetta's Serene Grace ability makes the side effects of moves double, so shadowball's 20% chance to lower the opponents special defense by one turns into a 40% chance.
