Hello !

I decided to prevent any longer my brother on having use of his account, so that I don't have major problems in this wide and cool communauty. I'm asking this for my brother's account, which I would like to be deleted, if possible. He preview to have Chespin as his starter, and here's the team he planned:

  • Chestnaught
  • Aegislash
  • Garchomp
  • Clawitzer
  • Aggron / Scizor
  • Blaziken / Charizard

For those who know me on RMT, Pokegron was my brother. I would've never let him has an account, as this created problems. Now, let's forget. So I ask this question instead of using his account. The question is the following:

Which one between 2 pairs must he use ?

Charizard or Blaziken ?
Scizor or Aggron ?

He thanks you, and me too :)

This is very opinionated and situational; it depends on what kind of Pokemon your looking for- a Bulky Tank in Aggron or Scizor, or a Dragon Physical Attacker or a Fighting one. However one Pokemon I think for sure should not be chosen to go Mega is Blaziken, as with one Swords Dance, it is just as strong as if not stronger than it's Mega Form and is just as fast as it needs to be withon the 2 Turns it would take to Protect ---> Swords Dance.

And what was wrong with Poke'gron? He was fine, he just needes to learn how to take constructive criticism, that's all.
True. He don't like to get too much changes. But now, he can predict so basically this is different. But as we live together, it makes such a nonsense having him his own account. But with the 4 upper Pokémon, which from the 2 lists synergizes the most, and would help the team ?
But Mega Blaziken can use Swords Dance, and Mega Evolution does not waste the turn. So Mega Blaziken can use Swords Dance and about as powerful than Blaziken using Swords Dance.

48.03 - 56.69% vs 50.39 - 59.58%

The first percentage is how much a Mega Blaziken would do with max Attack EVs, Adamant, and Return if it was a Normal type vs an Arceus.

The second percentage is how much a Blaziken would do with max Attack EVs, Adamant, Life Orb, and Return if it was a Normal type vs an Arceus.

Ignore the fact that it is a 2HKO on Blaziken since I did make it Normal typed and having Return, and the Arceus had an unrealistic 0 HP EVs in both situations anyways.

So this says that Blaziken with Life Orb is only somewhat more powerful than Mega Blaziken. And the price to pay with this is 10% Life Orb recoil, which stacks with the fact that its moves are so recoil based (High Jump Kick and Flare Blitz). We also have to take into account that it cannot outspeed the Scarfed Pokemon of base 90 Speed (of which we see a decent amount of) without getting two Protects in. Also, Mega Blaziken is slightly more bulky, with 10 more base defenses.

I think the benefits of Mega Blaziken as such outweight the con of a dealing 2% less damage. The only reason not to use it would be because you have another Mega on your team you would want more, as might very well be the case.
Thank you Trachy :)
My bro wants 2 Pokémon able to Mega-Evolve just in case off.
Alright, just disregard what I said then, and use Mega Blaziken over something else.
So Mega-Blaziken > Mega-Charizard and Scizor > Aggron. Thanks :)
Overall,Mega Blaziken is better than Charizard and Aggron is better than Scizor. This took a lot of time to figure out so I hope it helped
What happened with Pokegron? What did he do??
Tbh, you need some special attackers on your team
It is my brother's team, and he doesn't really like special attackers. And this is in-game, so I ain't worried for him about this subject.

I would personally go with Mega Charizard X over Mega Blaziken, considering the fact that when Charizard mega evolves, he changes from Fire-Flying to Fire-Dragon to throw the foe off balance. And that Charizard can cover all of his weaknesses in 2 moves: Bulldoze/Dig/Earthquake and Solarbeam. And in the second pair, I go with Aggron. Again with the type change to pure steel type during Mega Evolution, which makes Aggron more defensive.

OK. Thank you.
aggron isn't even being mega evolved
mega charizard x gains the ability tough claws and not drought which mega charizard y gains which makes solar beam useless. dragon type even gains a nerf this generation, with fairy types completely immune to charizard's STAB. so i think mega blaziken
outshines this one.

Charizard X is better because it's a Fire-Dragon resisting
-Fire(x1/4)
-Bug(x1/2)
-Grass(x1/4)
-Steel(x1/2)
-Electric (x1/2)
Charizard Y a Fire-Flying is resistant to
-Ground(x0) If Ring target, Gravity, Ingrain, Iron Ball and Smack Down in Gen. IV is (x2) Or in Gen. V when using a Iron Ball its (x1)
-Fighting(x1/2)
-Fire(x1/2)
-Fairy(x1/2)
-Grass(x1/4)
-Bug(x1/4)
-Steel(x1/2)
which is Awesome and its amazing Physical Attack(130). Charizard Y is a possibly to due to its amazing SpAk(159). Its default speed is 100 and Blazeiken is 80(without EVs) even if they both Mega evolve at the same time Charizard would go first. Plus Charizard X has 3 weaknessess
-Dragon(x2)
-Ground(x2)
-Rock(x2)
Charizard Y is weak against
-Rock(x4)
-Water(x2)
-Electric(x2)
While Blazeiken has weaknesses to
-Flying(x2)
-Psychic(x2)
-Ground(x2)
-Water(x2)
Plus Charizard Y and X has Drought(Y) and Tough Claws(X). Tough Claw gives a 1.33x boost for attacks that make comtact. Drought gives Fire attacks a 50 + more effective. Also making Solar Beam from a 2-turn attack to 1-turn to counter Rock and Water types. Blazeiken has Speed Boost but Charizard X can kill it with Earthquake and Charizard Y can use Air Slash. So to summarize Blazeiken maybe faster but, Charizard X and Y have great Physical Attack(X) and great SpAtk(Y), Ok speed (100) and vary little weakness(Rock, Ground and Dragon)X or/and (Rock, Water and Electric)Y. And in my opinion Charizard both X and Y are better than Blazeiken.
