Is the Pokerus a good thing or a bad thing?

A good thing for sure. It does the complete opposite of what you think.

It doubles your Pokemon's EV gain while your Pokemon has it, which essentially means extra stat points for a Pokemon at an earlier level. This is absolutely amazing for EV trainiers, but it's incredibly rare to get. I've only gotten it once.
