No luck with shinies?

k, I'm trying to find my first EVER shiny Pokemon out of all the games I have had (heart gold, fire red, black, white 2 and X) I think I'm a very unlucky person, but I was just wondering is the probability of finding shinies increased in XY bcuz I really need to start believing in myself if I'm going to attchieve this goal,

Candeh, go to a FS to find a Shiny. Or maybe use the Masuda Method :3

Yes, the chance of finding shinies has increased from 1/8192 to 1/4096 as of gen 6.
