If a fully grown plant is left for a month, the plant will wither, but
interacting with it will reveal a new plant sprouting beneath the
leaves, allowing that Berry to grow again.

So it will wither soon enough, like in about 3 weeks or so, unless you keep interacting with it.

From what I understand, as long as you interact with the berry field a new berry will keep sprouting from the plant.
