Bianca and Cheren in the anime?

In the anime Cheren is older and is already a gym leader, but Bianca hasn't aged or gotten glasses. Why is this?

bianca has aged a little, she got the glasses and she became prof. juniper assistant plus you font expect too much changes from a person in 2 years.
