Shiny Beldum Event Error?

Question

Whenever I try to get the shiny beldum through the mystery gift, it will take 5 seconds and give me an error saying: connection with the server was interrupted. What do I do? I really want to play the game with beldum.

There are a lot of various problems you could be having for example:

1. It's your internet, check the WiFi router you are using for problems, check internet speed and connectivity. Make sure you are not out of internet if using a prepaid.
2. Error with the event. Try again later.
3. You are too far away from the router you are using.
4. You turned off your WiFi on your ds during the download.
5. There's a problem with your ds, does problems like this happen often? If so It might be your ds in some way. Make sure it is kept in a room temperature and away from liquids.

Thanks for the suggestions but it shouldn't be any of those.  I've been trying for 3 days now and it never seems to cooperate.  I've even tried getting right next to the router and it still doesn't work, and I keep my 3ds in isolation to keep it better protected.  I think the first one is a possibility and I'll look into it.  Anyone's welcome to give me more suggestions please.
