Would a Set Damage Move KO a Pokemon with Sturdy?

Question

In Black and White. Shuckle has Sturdy, normally KOd by By Night Shade/Siesmic Toss etc. Would Sturdy Block this?

Sturdy applies only when a Pokemon has full HP and is about to get KO'ed, Sturdy will keep it at 1 HP.

(+) I apologize, I wasn't so sure how Strdy worked I guess.
Moves with set damage such as Dragon Rage and those moves I guess WILL ignore Sturdy.
