I hear people talk about stuff like pledge teams and water pledge ect. What is it?

A pledge team is basically a full team built on the foundations of the various pledges. These pledges are Water, Grass and Fire pledges which are available only to starters. Of course, this has to be a doubles team.

When pledge moves are used alongside each other, they get useful effects. See the above links for the various effects they have. An example of this, in doubles (as far as I've seen), is the 1st gen starter core.

(Almost)Excatly what he said.

It's not only in double battles, you find the combo in triples too. However, if you use all 3 in a triple battle, the first two used (from the fastest two users)will combine and the last one is used seperatly.
`The pledge moves gain extra effects(vary depending on the combo)and recieve double base power when 2 of them are used together.(80--->160)They combine into one move. All and only starters get this move with move tutors.
