Are Pokemon games considered RPGs?

Basically all Pokemon games divided into sections:
Mainstream (Is that the word for it?) Example: Red/Blue
PMD Example: Explorers of the Sky
Rumble Example: Pokemon Rumble World
Other Example: Pokemon Shuffle
