With the new update, how are we going to get Magearna?

For Pokedex? It won't be available in Kalos or Hoenn.

Considering Magearna isn't in any of the game files for X/Y/OR/AS, we're gonna have to wait for Gen 7.  Which probably means Gen 7's version of Mystery Gift.

We'll get Magearna after Sun/Moon are released, because it is in the Alola PokéDex. Also this:
