This set is for VGC doubles.

King Louie (Oranguru)@ Sitrus Berry / Mental Herb
Relaxed | Inner Focus
252 HP / 128 Def / 132 SpD
0IVs in Speed
- Trick Room
- Protect
- Instruct
- Psychic

THEME SONG!

Oranguru is a Trick Room + Instruct bot. That's all you'll really be using it for. Sitrus Berry restores a good chunk of HP to Oranguru and is preferable to Leftovers in VGC. Alternatively, I also suggest Mental Herb to stop Taunt. Taunt is a popular way of shutting down Trick Room, and a Mental Herb guarantees that TR gets set up (unless it is Knocked Off first, but the you have bigger problems than being Taunted). I would run Sitrus Berry if you have Fake Out support, and Mental Herb if you do not.

The EVs allow it to survive a Modest Bug Buzz from Vikavolt (however, not if it holds a Life Orb). On the physical side, it also survives Knock Off from max Attack Muk and Flare Blitz from max Attack Thick Club Marowak. 0IVs in Speed make it as slow as possible in Trick Room.

The moveset is pretty straightforward. Trick Room is Trick Room. Protect is a staple in VGC unless you're running a Choice item or Assault Vest. Instruct is Oranguru's niche. Attacking twice in one turn is awesome, especially when paired with heavy hitters like Muk, Marowak, Torkoal, and Scizor. Two Sun-powered Heat Waves? Two Technician Bug Bites? Two Bonemerangs? Oranguru can provide. Psychic means Oranguru's not total Taunt bait and lets it battle Crobat, its biggest counter, if it catches it on the switch.

In most situations Inner Focus is the best ability for Oranguru. It prevents Fake Out from stopping your Trick Room from going up. However, if you're confident in your ability to get Trick Room up and you really want to spam Instruct Earthquake, Telepathy does have its uses.

Good teammates for Oranguru are A) those who help it set up TR and B) those who benefit from Instruct and Trick Room. Hariyama is a great partner for Oranguru because it has Fake Out, low speed, and powerful Close Combat/Bullet Punches. Shiinotic can also help it set up with Spotlight. I suppose if you're feeling real gutsy you can use Rage Powder Parasect. As for Pokémon that benefit from Instruct/TR, the ones I listed above are probably the best.

Oranguru is not without it's problems. Common Pokémon like Muk and Marowak are dangerous because of sheer damage output and how well they can make Trick Room work against you. Crobat is also a huge problem. It usually carries Taunt to stop Trick Room, has Inner Focus to stop Fake Out support, can be quite bulky, has Brave Bird/Cross Poison to KO Rage Powder support, and U-Turn to slap Oranguru in the face and leave, probably to be replaced by something that can KO Oranguru. Doubling up on Crobat or Taunting it first with something like Sableye or Klefki is the best way to handle it.

That was much longer than intended O.o
I like the name.
Now I'm the king of setters, oh
The trick room vip
I used instruct, then ran outta luck
And that's what's botherin' me

I wanna be OP, Guzzlord
And be on every team
And sweep just like the Ultra Beasts
I'm tired of being a meme

Oranguru! Doo doo be doo
I wanna be OU-U-U
I wanna sweep like you, wall like you, too-o-o
You see it's true
An ape like me
Can learn to be OP too

"Gee, Oranguru you got a real niche"
"Now here's your part of the deal, Guzz. Lay on me the secret of being overused"
"But I don't know how to be OU"

Now don't try to kid me, Ultra Beast
I made a deal with you
I wanna be cancerous, as good as Landorus
Please make my dream come true
Give me the secret, Ultra Beast
Please clue me what to do
It is my hour to be overpowered
Let me into OU

Oranguru!
I wanna be OU-U-U
I wanna sweep like you, wall like you, too-o-o
You'll see it's true
Someone like me
Can learn to be totally OP
Can learn to be viable in OU
Can learn to be totally OP!
… beautiful :'D
Don't you mean Ubers. (Means too good for OU)

Gen 8 Doubles

Oranguru Sprite

Oranguru @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Telepathy / Inner Focus
EVs: 228 HP / 116 Def / 112 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Yawn / Protect
- Ally Switch
- Trick Room
- Psyshock / Psychic

This Oranguru can set up Trick Room for it's teammates, as well as support it's teammates with Ally Switch + Yawn/Protect for mind tricks. Aguav Berry can give it some extra instant recovery. In DUU, you can pair it with Pokemon like offensive Gastrodon, which can spam Earthquake and Surf without hurting Oranguru, due to Telepathy. In DOU, it can help out Hatterene (Low speed) Metagross (Earthquake/Explosion immunity, slower Pokemon), Heatran (Lava Plume immunity, but you'll probably be using Eruption anyway, 77 base Speed), and Celesteela (Earthquake immunity, also a bit slow). You can run Inner Focus to stop Incineroar's Fake Out as well. Psyshock/Psychic is STAB and there so you aren't total Taunt bait.

Attacking Oranguru

Singles

Oranguru @ Life Orb / Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
- Yawn
- Dream Eater
- Future Sight
- Foul Play / Protect / Nasty Plot / Calm Mind / Energy Ball / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball / Thunderbolt

I like Future Sight as a helpful support move to hit your opponent when you are dead to give your teammates support or as just high power damage.
Yawn + Dream Eater, yay. Protect can help to stall out a bit.
Rest is just coverage. Foul Play useful to hit low Def Pokemon but still useless against Chansey. Nasty Plot and Calm Mind are set-up.
EV investment is to hit hard and tank.
