Do Suction Cups Pokemon Work For Regular Shiny Hunting (Non-Aquatic)?

Question

Does a Pokemon with the ability Suction Cups still give the chain rate that slight boost outside of water and shiny fishing? (Ex. Caves, Grasslands, Etc.)

Suction cups doesn't help with boosting chains or shiny chance at all... it just (almost) guarantees a fish to be reeled when using the rod.

Um, suction cups doesn't give a chain boost. All it does is increase the chance of you not getting a "nothing bit" while fishing. Unless you don't mean shiny chance.

From Pokémon Emerald onwards, if a Pokémon with Suction Cups is in first place in the player's party (even if fainted), bites will occur more often while fishing. Sticky Hold has the same effect.

It has nothing to do with shiny chances. It only makes chain fishing easier.
