This is for a MonoType Grass Team (Gen 7) Sun and Moon

I am trying to think of Grass Pokémon that are more than capable of checking steel type Pokémon especially

  • Heatran
  • Celesteela
  • Mega Scizor

These 3 Pokemon are big threats to a Mono-Grass Type

I was trying to think of Grass Pokémon that can learn either one of more of the following maybe

  • Flamethrower
  • Thunderbolt
  • Earth Power
  • Thunderpunch
  • Fire Punch
  • Earthquake
  • Close Combat
  • Mach Punch
  • Any Fire Move to dent Mega Scizor

That said any suggestions will be appreciated
Dual Type Pokémon are welcome as long as it's a Grass Pokémon or part Grass.

What are some good Grass Pokémon that are capable of checking Heatran, Celesteela, and Mega Scizor?

Regular Sceptile won't help much, and mega Sceptile is worse than mega Venusaur.
Why not? His speed is nasty. Just thrown on earthquake and brick break and with the right item it would be do-able. im trying to thk of all the grass types that might work. Honestly, i don't see why not just throw on another fire type mon w solar beam( if u needed grass type moves for your team)
....but ya wouldn't b my first choice regardless
Its attack stats aren't the best and it's checked by most priority attacks.
Well, alolan eggeutor sounds like the best choice to me. But he says he still needs 3 more, so that's tough. Unless he just meant 3 more to choose from.

Since this question has been answered and will soon become archived among the thousands of other questions, I might as well list all the grass types that others came up with.

Stuff that is known to work
Mega Venusaur - fire hidden power
Breloom - mach punch
Tapu Bulu - superpower
Cradily - earthquake
Serperior - fire hidden power

Stuff that might work
Tangrowth - fire hidden power and earthquake
Chesnaught - drain punch
Virizion - sacred sword or focus blast
Dhelmise - earthquake
Roserade - fire hidden power

If you came up with something that isn't listed here, that's probably because I decided that it had too many weaknesses to be good (a common problem with grass). This is the case with Shaymin, Celebi, and Silvally. I didn't list mow Rotom because it doesn't learn good moves that are super effective against steel.

I like breloom a lot too for this. That'd also be one of my top choices.
I put Breloom on my team
Heatran won't like taking a Mach Punch to the face.
Sumwan
If you add the pokemon I added and on to your list Ill mark yours the best answer :P
Choice specs Alolan eggecutor with flamethrower was pretty awesome. Or even a life orb with some way for him to recover. But I guess that's just spec-ulating. Haha get it(;
Which Pokemon did you add on my list?
Done. (12 characters)

I think that your best bet for a Pokemon is Ludicolo. Ludicolo is a Water/Grass type that counters Steel types with ease. A possible moveset is:
Ludicolo@ Life Orb
Ability: Rain Dish
Hydro Pump
Giga Drain
Rain Dance
Ice Beam
Hope I helped! :-)

It has nothing against Ferrothorn.
Focus Blast :)
