What happens to a Pokemon when it's transferred from a Virtual Console game to SM?

Pokemon have many properties that didn't exist in Generation 1, like EVs, IVs, personalities, and natures, so when are those properties generated and what are they when they are generated? Additionally, Generation 1 had a different EV system. What happens to those EVs when the Pokemon gets transferred? Please don't question my curiosity.

To make things short: everything, apart from the ability that will always be the hidden one of the pokèmon, is generated randomly when in pass from the virtual console game to the pokebank and the EVs get set all to 0.
