How can I enter Live Competition?

When I start up the game, I see the option, but when I click on it, just says "Receiving Player ID... Don't turn off the power" and nothing happens even after a hour. What should I do?

No don't. I think the Live Competition is for when you actually go to the Pokemon Championships.

Live Competition is only for official tournaments run by The Pokemon Company, i.e. the Pokemon National/World Championships. It only works when you are at the actual event, not over wifi or anything like that.

To play online in X/Y, you need to load up the Player Search System (PSS) once you've loaded your game, not from the initial menu screen.
