I think they basically wanted to make Zen Darmanitan's Darmanitan's that are unusually there. Sheer Force kinda looks like the Pokémon is very strong, kinda like a fighting type, so them turning zen happens unusually. I think that's it.

Because Aegislash doesn't have an alternative ability. They wanted Aegi to only have that one specific ability, whilst they wanted Darm's signature ability to feel more special.

Also, think about the fact that HA's were introduced in Gen 5. They were probably just looking for excuses to add more.
