When is the berry giveaway going on, and why can't I get it?

Im looking forward to getting the special Pokemon Berry giveaway but when I'm trying to get it it keeps saying: ''The Gifts Not There..".
What am I doing wrong? Can I get it or no?
Please help me I really want those berries!

This Berry distribution runs from January 7, 2019 (8:00 p.m. PST), to September 2, 2019 (4:59 p.m. PST), so don't miss out on adding these valuable items to your game!

The reason you can’t get the berries is because the event hasn’t started yet.

Well i didn't get the berries, it still says the gifts not there
its the 8th thought. Whats going on?

The event started at 8pm PST tonight (why they didn’t just start it at midnight is beyond me), so you should be able to get them now.
